Rome, March 8, 2018. Italo – Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori has obtained from the UK Department for Transport the “UK Rail Franchising PQQ Passport”, through a process launched back in October 2017. The Passport allows the company to participate to tenders regarding rail transport throughout the UK.
Indeed, on 5 March 2018, Italo was inserted in the official public register of Passport holders of the aforementioned Department (link: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/rail-franchising#rail-franchising-pqq-passport).
The Passport was granted following a deep and detailed assessment process made by the UK Department for Transport that evaluated Italo’s organisational, technical, marketing and safety skills with respect to high quality, productivity and safety standards. Italo achieved the Passport at its first attempt. This certification allows Italo to participate to any future tender they could be interested in for theassignment of rail transport services on the main franchised networks in the United Kingdom.
