Inclusion and abolishing diversity of any sort are paramount for Italo.

The company targets are linked to the 2030 UN Agenda focused on equal opportunities: gender, salary, generational, cultural and ethnic equality.

The Financial Times put Italo in the first place for Diversity & Inclusion in the Italian Railway sector in 2022.

Women are the heart of Italo:

  • 48% of all Italo staff are women;
  • 61% of Train Managers are women;
  • 10 women work as drivers;
  • 40% of managers are women and working in strategic positions;
  • 25% of women have children, 46% of which of pre-school age.

Scholarships and Value to merit

In 2022, Italo granted 22 scholarships to children of its employees who received the best school marks, from primary school to university.
A new step in the talent enhancement path started up by Italo to reward excellences and invest in the future

Dedicated training for D&I

Italo organises courses both in class and on interactive platforms to create awareness in all the company population on themes such as respecting diversity and giving value to unicity.

Self-defence for all Italo women

This project is an important step in the training against gender violence.
Italo foresees practical and theory lesson to learn basic self-defence techniques and skills. 

Charity and Fundraising

In terms of sustainability and inclusion, Italo is involved in charity projects also towards external organisations to guarantee an equal socially sustainable development and create awareness in all the company’s population.

Sport and Inclusivity

For Italo, sport is a driver in terms of social inclusion and unity. Apart from teaching the basis of teamwork and the need to respect little daily rules, sport is a driver of sustainable growth and promotes a greater knowledge of others as well as of ourselves.
