Italo’s People

italo social

For us, diversity is not just a principle—it is a tangible element of our culture.

By valuing diverse perspectives, experiences, and skills, we create a dynamic environment and continuously improve the quality of our services.

In 2025, we further strengthened our commitment by achieving the PAS 24000 certification, an internationally recognized standard that acknowledges the adoption of advanced social responsibility practices, with a particular focus on gender equality, professional development, and talent empowerment.

This commitment is reflected both in our people and in our everyday actions:

  • Approximately 50% of our workforce is made up of women, with a growing presence in operational and leadership roles.
  • We promote initiatives every year dedicated to gender balance, cultural inclusion, and the development of younger generations.

Through training programs, dedicated initiatives, and opportunities for dialogue and exchange, we work every day to create an environment where differences become opportunities.

We strive to create a workplace where people can find balance, security, and genuine care.

Our approach to wellbeing is practical and comprehensive, encompassing all dimensions of working life:

  • Work-life balance
  • Financial wellbeing and stability
  • Health and safety
  • Social wellbeing

This is supported by a flexible welfare system that provides employees and their families with practical and customizable benefits, accessible through a dedicated platform.

Alongside existing healthcare coverage, the Company promotes free health screenings and awareness campaigns focused on prevention and wellbeing, while a 24/7 telemedicine service ensures that all employees have access to medical consultations whenever needed.

To further support personal growth and foster a strong sense of belonging, scholarships are awarded each year to employees’ children, and sports tournaments and wellbeing initiatives are organized to encourage social connection and engagement across the organization.

Skills development is a key pillar of our strategy.

At Italo, we invest in continuous learning to support our people’s professional and personal growth, while helping them navigate the ongoing evolution of the mobility sector.

Our training programs cover:

  • Technical and operational skills development
  • Soft skills enhancement
  • Training on Human Factors and Just Culture principles
  • Digital innovation and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence

On average, approximately 60 training hours are delivered per employee each year. For operational staff, more than 64,000 hours of initial training were provided in 2025, laying the foundations for a successful onboarding experience and supporting future career development.

We also encourage internal mobility and job rotation, providing employees with tangible opportunities for professional growth and long-term career development within the Company.

Our commitment extends beyond the Company, contributing to the sustainable development of the communities in which we operate.

We support tangible projects through partnerships with third-sector organizations, with a particular focus on research, inclusion, and support for people in vulnerable situations.

Key initiatives include:

  • STEM scholarships and research projects developed in collaboration with leading universities, aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • AED Donation Program: through the Cardio-Protected Train project, five automated external defibrillators (AEDs) were donated to non-profit organizations.
  • Partnership with Fondazione Telethon, including awareness-raising initiatives targeting travelers.
  • Awareness campaigns to combat pet abandonment and encourage the adoption of abandoned dogs and cats.

These initiatives reflect Italo’s commitment to creating a positive and lasting impact, generating shared value for people, communities, and local territories.
