ITALO GROUP PRESENTS THE 2024 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

Rome, April 14, 2025 – The Italo Group announces the publication of its 2024 Sustainability Report. This document represents the Group's commitment to a more sustainable and responsible future.

Key Results of 2024

  • Italo was awarded at InnoTrans 2024 in Berlin, the world's leading transport technology fair, winning in the "Healthy cities and communities" category with a prize organized by the UIC (Union International Chemin de Fer) thanks to the "Cardio-Protected Trains" project. This project involves the installation of state-of-the-art defibrillators on all trains and company sites, demonstrating Italo's attention to community health and safety, and resulted in the rescue of 2 travelers in 2024.
  • This year, the company has consistently monitored its emission levels and expanded the calculations of the value chain and related Scope 3 emissions with the aim of continuing to reduce them, seizing new opportunities to improve and tackle climate change.
  • Italo continuously invests in training and development at various stages of its personnel's professional life to ensure and maintain high standards of quality and safety. In 2024, approximately 40,000 hours of training were provided, which, in addition to the mandatory ones required by law, include the integration of the Human Factor in safety aspects, courses on Artificial Intelligence topics and applications, soft and business skills, and human skills.
  • Renewable Energy: All territorial offices are powered 100% by certified renewable energy sources.
  • Integrated Mobility: Thanks to the synergy between Italo and Itabus, the intermodal transport offer has been expanded, integrating rail service with road service.
  • Commitment to Work-Life Balance and Social Responsibility:
    • Health coverage for employees and their families: long-term care, life insurance, professional and extra-professional accident insurance, supplementary health care;
    • Health screenings and awareness campaigns;
    • First edition of Wellness Days with the possibility of free check-up visits and specialist consultations;
    • Telemedicine for employees and their families, with quick and secure access to 24/7 medical consultations, providing:
    • 3,900+ healthcare services.
    • 1,800+ prescriptions from specialized doctors.
    • 1,100+ video consultations.
    • Psychological support services for employees, including:
    • 551 psychological consultations.
    • 154 consultations for post-trauma stress management.
    • Sports and solidarity days in collaboration with Special Olympics Italia and Intersos.
    • Support for employees with caregiving responsibilities, through additional work permits and digital paths involving parents, totaling 183 consultations;
    • Possibility to convert Performance Bonuses into welfare with a 65% utilization rate of the converted Bonus;
    • 38 scholarships for deserving employees' children.
    • More than 100 colleagues involved in solidarity initiatives, specifically:
    • Food collection days (Banco Alimentare).
    • Clothing and linen collection days (Sant’Egidio).
    • Toy collection days (Salvamamme).
    • Blood donation days (Italian Red Cross).
    • Volunteer day at a dog shelter (Empethy).

Governance and Transparency

Solid governance: Our governance structure supports all sustainability initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability at every stage of the process. Additionally, in compliance with its procurement and business conduct practices, in 2024, 96.7% of Italo's spending was allocated to Italian suppliers, with 68% of the total spending reserved for the supply and maintenance of rolling stock and network access. Itabus allocated 95.8% of its procurement spending to Italian suppliers.
