ITALO LAUNCHES NEW ON-BOARD PORTAL

Rome, June 24, 2026 – Italo continues to invest in technology to make travel an increasingly immersive experience.

Following the agreement to introduce ultra-fast Starlink satellite connectivity on board (with initial installations already completed and the entire fleet to be equipped within the next year), and the enhancement of the on-board 5G network, the company is now launching the fully redesigned Italo Live on-board portal. This new platform includes numerous innovations, with particular attention to international travelers, who are increasingly choosing Italo to explore Italy.

The portal is accessible directly from passengers’ personal devices (smartphones, tablets and laptops) and features a cutting-edge interface inspired by leading streaming platforms, designed to be simple, intuitive and fast. It is supported by an advanced technological infrastructure that requires a reliable and stable connection—made possible by Italo’s recent tech investments.

The content offering will be extensive and continuously updated, featuring both national and international premium content. Available sections include:

Films and TV series (over 80 titles including international blockbusters, classics, animation and regularly updated series, available in multiple languages)

Newspapers and magazines (around 50 Italian and international publications, always up to date)

Podcasts (a selection of approximately 30 titles covering topics such as current affairs, sports and culture, available in multiple languages)

Music (playlists with Italian and international tracks)

Kids’ content (dedicated animation and family-friendly entertainment)

Games and leisure activities (interactive experiences for both adults and children)

The presence of international and multilingual content is a distinctive feature of Italo’s offering, reflecting the growing number of international travelers. This expansion of services for foreign tourists is also highlighted by the launch of the on-board magazine “Italo I Sensi del Viaggio” in a bilingual Italian/English edition starting this month.

A further high-tech investment stems from the partnership with Discovery Reply. In Italo Club Lounges, a new immersive experience is now available: through 3D headsets, travelers can explore destinations via 360° videos and begin their journey even before boarding. A way to discover destinations and iconic landmarks through a true virtual guide.

“Over the past years, we have consistently invested in technology to offer innovative and cutting-edge digital services. Today, those traveling with Italo benefit from a stable, high-speed connection and a rich entertainment portal—just like watching TV at home. Travel is no longer just about reaching a destination, but about the experience itself. On board our trains, there are passengers working, studying, or looking for entertainment, and today we can meet all these needs, addressing both domestic and international audiences,” commented Gianbattista La Rocca, CEO of Italo.

“Italo Live represents a new way of experiencing on-board entertainment. Accessible from any device without the need for an external connection, it offers a wide range of sections for every preference. Films, magazines, newspapers, podcasts, TV series, games and much more, allowing passengers to relax or stay informed during their journey. This is an important initiative for Italo, which continues to place the traveler at the center of its strategy,” said Dora Bonadies, Head of Network & Market Development at Italo.
