Italo’s investment in safety is something new and important as people’s safety involves passengers, thus the entire community. Italo has been the first train company in Italy to install defibrillators on its trains since March 2016. The company’s on-board staff underwent specific training and has already used them successfully. This year Italo continues along its health and safety roadmap to bring greater value to its passengers by improving its staff’s skills. Last April, thanks to the collaboration with Squicciarini Rescue – company accredited to the 118 regional rescue service - the company started a course on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and airway obstruction manoeuvers. In April, May and June, Italo is going to organise training days for its staff on all devices in order to be “ready” in case of need. Training days will foresee a theoretical part as well as a lot practice to allow Italo’s team to achieve the right skills to use on trains as well as at stations or in their private life. The course will teach Italo employees to work on all kind of patients, also paediatric patients - delicate patients that require specific care and manoeuvers. Once they have passed their tests, employees will be certified and ready to operate.
