Pietro Guida, a famous Italian artist has organised an exhibition at Matera of 41 cement and plaster sculptures, built between 1947 and 2016. "Tale of a People of Statues" also exhibited Guida's most recent work, inspired by the legend of Pygmalion, for the very first time.
Italo offered its passengers a discount on the admission ticket for the exhibition.
The exhibition was organised to celebrate the 29th edition of "The great exhibitions in the Sassi" of contemporary sculpture, organised by the Circolo La Scaletta, managed and supported by the Cave Heritage cooperative - Art, Culture and Tourism (www.caveheritage.it).
The exhibition has been active for almost thirty years, and each year attracts to the city of the Sassi a tourism characterised by culture and quality, confirming it as one of the most important Italian events of contemporary art.
Italo is therefore proud of having supported this great event in which Matera was absolutely the protagonist of the cultural scene.
