FOCUS, the first project of Circular Economy started up by Italo, is now finished. This project is part of Italo’s environmental project aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the company’s activities made together with GM Ambiente & Energia. The collection of cigarette butts in Rome’s office begun last March: over 30,000 butts have been collected. If abandoned in the environment, they could have polluted an area of about 5,000 sm, causing direct damages to animals, especially birds, who eat them and obstructing the sewages of major cities.
Thanks to the FOCUS project, Italo has used waste material to help grow plants such as sage, rosemary and oleander, thus doubling a great contribution to the environment.
