The change is an integral part of Italo Italo's DNA. That's why we try so hard to use our energy resources more and more efficiently. Italo participated in "Italy in Class A", Italy's first energy efficiency information and training campaign, which lasted three years, promoted by the Ministry of Economic Development and implemented by ENEA.
The project's main objective is to teach people the importance of energy saving and energy efficiency and to provide the tools and the opportunities to achieve them.
Our trains are an important instrument to achieve these objectives: Italo's train is an important example of how technological innovation can go hand in hand with energy and environmental sustainability.
Italo is, in fact, a "green" train that has always travelled in "Class A". 98% of the materials it contains are recyclable, its advanced technology saves energy compared to other trains and significantly reduces CO2 emissions into the atmosphere as compared to other means of transport. Suffice it to say that the Roma - Milano route involves an emission of 30.6 kg of CO2 if done by train, and increases up to 127.4 kg and 178.8 kg by car and airplane, respectively.
Italo participates with the utmost enthusiasm in the "Italy in Class A" campaign, promoting the message that simple changes to our lifestyle and to our daily behaviour can contribute to reducing the per capita energy consumption, determine a more rational and intelligent use of energy and as a result improve our quality of life.
