The first edition of Mantova Jazz took place in 1981 with the intention of bringing to Mantova the most significant representation of the state of health of jazz and the most significant trends in progress.
Thanks to the collaboration of Arci Mantova together with the Roberto Chiozzini Jazz Club, Italo accompanied its passengers to the prestigious festival, which has now reached its 35th edition, and is promoted by the Municipality of Mantova, by Lombardy's Regional Government and by Mantova's "Lucio Campiani" Music Conservatory.
On 22 October 2016, Mark Guiliana, David Bowie's last drummer, performed during the inaugural evening of the Festival. His Jazz Quartet, made up of bassist Chris Morrisey, pianist Shai Maestro and saxophonist Jason Rigby were with him on the stage of Mantova's Teatro Ariston.
Mantova Jazz is not only music: there was also a photography exhibition called #JustJazzShots, that showed Nicola Malaguti's shots of the most important jazz events and celebrities.
Italo is therefore proud to support this festival, which every year attracts fans and interested people from all over Italy and beyond. By making available its connections, Italo helped all its passengers get closer to the excellence of the world of jazz gathered at Mantova to enjoy many evenings of good music.
