Palazzo Roverella
Rodney Smith. Photography Between Reality and Surrealism
A photographic journey through irony, precision, and visual poetry: for the first time in Italy, Palazzo Roverella hosts a major exhibition dedicated to Rodney Smith, the New York photographer considered one of the most iconic of the 20th century, from October 4, 2025 to February 1, 2026.
Italo has always supported cultural initiatives that turn every journey into an experience of beauty and discovery. In line with this vision, Italo is proud to be a partner of the exhibition dedicated to Rodney Smith, hosted for the first time in Italy at Palazzo Roverella.
With over one hundred images, the exhibition retraces the entire career of the New York photographer, celebrating his refined blend of elegance, compositional rigor, and surreal humor. His photographs evoke worlds suspended between reality and dream, enriched by references to Magritte’s painting and the cinema of Hitchcock and Wes Anderson.
The exhibition path, divided into six sections, guides visitors through scenarios full of grace and mystery, in an emotional dialogue that transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Thanks to Italo’s support, this exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore a distinctive visual poetry, where formal harmony and symbolic storytelling merge into a high-level cultural experience.
*All travelers holding an ITALO train ticket to or from Rovigo can purchase an entrance ticket at the reduced price of €8 instead of the full price of €10. This discount will be available during the exhibition period and only if the ITALO train ticket is dated within three days before or after the date of entry to the event.
