Italo is active in promoting initiatives that increase awareness on social sustainability.
Social sustainability is the ability to ensure that the fundamental conditions of human well-being – such as safety, health and education – are equally distributed by class and gender. To do so, Italo acts, on its own or by partnering with other players, by supporting initiatives that improve fairness, accessibility, participation and cultural identity.
In October 2017 Italo took part in “Nastro Rosa” campaign promoted by AIRC (Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca sul Cancro). During all the month, travellers could buy a pin in Italo Club Lounges (in Roma Termini, Roma Tiburtina, Milano Centrale, Firenze Santa Maria Novella, Torino Porta Susa and Napoli Centrale) through a free donation.
In this way all travellers could partecipate to the AIRC’s campaign, linked to research and prevention.
Italo is very enthusiastic of its collaboration in the “AMICI CUCCIOLOTTI 2018 project – The trading cards that save animals”. This collection by Pizzardi Editore helps to donate 10 million bowls of food to animals kept in the shelters Italian Animal Protection Organisation.
